Designer Prices Are So High… Where Do We Go From Here?

The other day I posted a pair of Hermès Oran sandals — a steal at $680. In what felt like a blink of an eye, they’re now $900.

And my DMs? Flooded. Messages about how crazy designer pricing has gotten. How fast

Prices are rising. Even people who love investing in fashion are starting to pause and rethink.

Honestly, it confirmed what so many of us are already feeling.

The Reality of Luxury Right Now

Luxury pricing has shifted dramatically. Pieces that once felt like attainable splurges now. They require serious consideration — emotionally and financially.

That doesn’t mean luxury is over. It just means how we shop and style has evolved.

Where We Go From Here

Instead of chasing every new release, I’m seeing (and encouraging) a more thoughtful approach. Mixing contemporary brands, discovering new designers, leaning into minimal pieces, and relying on styling rather than logos.

Contemporary & Emerging Brands

So many contemporary brands are delivering thoughtful design, beautiful fabrics, and wearable silhouettes without shocking price tags.

These are the pieces that actually get worn — and that make your wardrobe work harder.

Minimal Doesn’t Mean Cheap — It Means Intentional

When I talk about minimal, contemporary, or under-the-radar brands, I’m not saying everything is inexpensive. Some of these pieces are still a splurge — but they’re intentional splurges. They don’t scream a logo or chase a trend that expires in six months. They’re about cut, fabric, fit, and how they live in your closet.

These are the pieces you reach for again and again — the ones that quietly elevate everything else you own without announcing themselves. To me, that’s where the value really is.

Where to Splurge

I still believe in splurging, just strategically. Think coats, blazers, bags, and shoes that anchor your wardrobe and elevate everything else.

Vintage Is Always a Yes

Collecting vintage clothing and jewelry you truly love adds individuality you simply can’t replicate. It’s personal, timeless, and often better made.

Have Fun With Jewelry & Accessories

Designer, real, costume, vintage — it all works. Layer it, mix it, make it yours. Accessories are where personality lives.

The Goal

Fashion should feel inspiring, not stressful. By mixing smart investments, contemporary brands, vintage finds, and expressive accessories, you can stay current without worrying about breaking the bank.
